HANNAH AND THE HURRICANE

Money isn't everything.

          Hannah is sixteen and lives on an island. She is working for Mr. Duval on his glass-bottomed boat because she is on holiday from school. One day, another new glass-bottomed boat is shown up. Then people choose the boat to ride because it is cheap. It is managed by Max Marker, and he is very rich. One day, hurricane comes her island. Hannah goes to Max Marker's house to talk about the boat. However, some of his house is gone, and he is under the roof.
          Hannah is enough to live a little money, but Max Marker want more much money and he believes he can buy something and solve matters if he has money. However, he is starting to understand he is wrong and money isn't everything because of the hurricane accident and Hannah. I think there are many things can't buy using money. So I agree that money isn't everything.

Zack's Alligator

Bridget began to move-her head turned, her tail curled. Bridget grew bigger and bigger.

          One day, a big box from his uncle came in the mail for Zack. When he opened the box, there is an alligator key chain. He soaked the alligator key chain named Bridget. After that, she grew larger and larger. First, he cooked meal for her, and she ate it saying "I have never eaten anything like that before." After she finished eating, they went out. Then, they had many things, she was wrestling with the garden hose, bit the tire of the truck, played in the park, ride merry-go-around, met his best friends Turk and so on. On the way home, she was shrinking smaller and smaller. When they got back home, she turned key chain size, and they did one promise.
          Bridget is a alligator key chain, but if she is saoked water, she become real alligator. This is interesting. What's more, Zack and Bridget become good friends. I found they are getting along with and they seem very happy. Last scene which they have to say goodbye is sadly and they seem very unhappy. Even so, they promise to see each other again. This book is happily story and little sad story, but very heartwarming story too.

Get the ball!

Anthony watches Alex get the ball. But Anthony starts running. He runs at Alex.

          There is a good soccer game, and two girls are watching the game. Kerry likes the reds because her boyfriend Anthony plays for the Reds, and Jerry likes the Blues because her boyfriend Alex plays for the Blues. Alex kicks ball at the Red's gaul, and after that Anthony also do it. Alex wants the Blues to win, but Anthony want the Reds to win. So two teams are having a good game. However, Anthony is angry with Alex, so he gets the ball and kicks it away, and then he says "You get the ball, Alex!" Alex gets the ball, but Anthony runs and pushes Alex because some bags are falling on the ball. Anthony saves Alex.
          When Anthony runs at Alex, I think Anthony fights with Alex. So when I found it was wrong and Anthony did good thing, I feel relief. At first, the two boys are not getting along, but one thing happen between them changes their relationship. I have no idea what happen in my life like the two boys, Anthony and Alex.

Stone Soup

... the visitor said "I once had stone soup with cabbage and carrots and corn and beans. It was delicious!"

          There was a village which was a nice place to live, but people live in the village didn't like to share. One day, a visitor came there and he asked the people to share food, but every one said "No!". Then the visitor said "I will make atone soup for every one." However, he didn't any food. People live in the village saw him making stone soup.  So he said " The only thing better is stone soup with cabbage!" He repeated such as these words few times, and people who didn't like share with someone brought their food.
          I can't believe that people who don't like share are changed their mind and become their favorite thing is to share by the visitor. As the result, it is good that the village people can get along with and live happily.

How Elephants lost their Wings

They flew everywhere. They flew high into the sky and down to the ground.

          Once upon a time, elephants had wings and could fly. They enjoyed flying, but flying elephants were big trouble. All the trees were broken and there were no houses left because of them.
          At first, elephants with their wings enjoyed flying, and it was good. However, they did the act of causing trouble to someone else, so it was not good. I think it is not good to be trouble for someone. I have to be careful not to be trouble for someone.

          They exactly lived happily every day, but after they found golden eggs, they became greedily to get wealth. However, after they didn't get golden eggs, they lost everything and their old life was returned. So I learned I don't be greedy because if do so, I may lose everything like Tom and Elena.

          The little red hen find some grains of wheat, so he decided to plant the wheat. He wanted to help to plant, so he asked his three best friends to help him plant the wheat, cut it down, take the wheat to the mill and make the flour into bread. However, no one say "Yes" all of those question. So he did all of way to grow wheat only himself. However, when "Who will help me eat the bread?" said the little red hen, all of his three best friends said "Yes".
          After I finished reading this book, I thought it is important to help them if I see people in need. To do so, it receives myself and good thing. It is not good to do only good for myself.

Chicken Licken

"The sky is falling!" cried Chicken Licken.

          One day, Chicken Licken went to the woods, and he stopped by an oak tree. Suddenly, a tiny acorn dropped from the tree and hit his head. He didn't see the acorn, so he thought what was that. When he looked up at the sky, he thought "The sky must be falling." Then, he thought "I must tell the King", so he rushed back to the farmyard to the king. He met many his friends on his way to the King, and he told his happening and his thought to them. All of his friends believed his thought except fox Foxy Loxy. Foxy Loxy didn't think the sky was falling, but he thought of good idea, but it was bad idea for Chicken Locken and his friends.
          As Chicken Licken made a mistake that not acorn but the sky fell on his head, his friends were deceived and involved dangerous happening by Foxy Loxy. I think it is important to check whether it is right or not.

The Magic Porridge Pot

Remember the magic words and you will never be hungry.

          Hannah never had enough to eat. When she had some food, she always shared it. One day, she met an old woman who carrying an empty pot. And then, an old woman made hot porridge use two magic words. One is to make hot porridge, and the other is to stop making it. After they ate hot porridge together, an old woman gave the pot Hannah. Because of this, she can eat enough. However, one evening, the pot was stolen by a greedy boy who saw the pot started to fill with porridge. The boy made hot porridge when he went back home, but he didn't know how to stop making because he didn't hear that Hannah said magic word to stop making. So hot porridge filled out the pot.
          Hannah lived seriously, so she had a good thing to get the pot to be able to make hot porridge. On the other hand, a greedy boy had stolen her pot, so he had bad thing to make hot porridge fill out of the pot. So I think it is important to live seriously. If to do so, maybe come back to good things.

A few days later, a wolf DID come out of the forest. Sam was terrified. He ran down to the village as fast as he could. Nobody believed him.

          There was one boy Sam who lived in a little village in the mountain. He took the sheep from his village to a grassy meadow, watched them from morning until evening and took them home again. Every day is the same, so he was bored. Then, he ran down the hill to the village and shouted "A wolf has come out of the forest." Many villagers believed him and went to help him. But this was not true. It was funny for him to do this. So he did the same things more two times, but more and more people did not believe him. One day, a wolf really came out of the forest. Of course, nobody did believe him.
          This story teach us not to tell a lie. If telling lies too much, nobody believe and help when really happen true thing and need help. So I'm careful to tell lies too much.

          This is the story that until people get an enormous turnip. One morning, a farmer wanted to a turnip, so he went out to look for one. Then he saw one turnip with very big green leaves, so he tried to pick this one. But he couldn't pick one. His wife was seeing that scene, so she helped him pick the big turnip. But they couldn't pick. After that, their son, a dog, a cat and a bird helped them next to next. All of them tried to pick one.
          I think this story teach us important things about effort and not giving up. If we do so, we can get somethings we want. In addition, in Japan, this story is known as Ookina kabu. I read this story when I was an elementary school student, so many people also may have known this story. however, I don't know last paragraph.

          In this story, the gingerbread man was made by a little old woman and a little old man who have no children. This thing made them sad, so they made the gingerbread man as their child. However, when they finished making gingerbread man, he ran out of house. A little old woman and a little old man ran after him to catch, but to do so, not only them but also animals and people who met him and thought wanted to eat him. However, no one caught him, but when he came to the river, he didn't cross there because he was a gingerbread man. Then fox helped him, but he was eaten by fox.
          I don't know why gingerbread man ran out of house and escaped everyone to want to catch him. If he didn't do so, He might not be eaten by fox. So I interested in this point. In addition, I thought we don't have to believe anyone who don't know well. We may be doubted him. The last in this story is little surprising, but this story, as the whole, is funny.

         I wonder what did she do if she didn't met a huge giant. Anyway, it was fun story to live in a shoe.

Father Mouse really wants his daughter to marry the most powerful husband, so what they do then?
          It is fun for me to read this book. I can read the book next page to next page thinking who is next?.  I'm happy that this story finish happy end. I like this story.

In addition, this is written we should practice fire drills. This book is like a manual if it is happened all sorts of fire accidents, so we can learn how to and what to do. Therefore, I reccomend this bookto read at least once.

HENRY AND MUDGE in the Sparkle Days

The snow made Henry and Mudge want to run.

          There are three stories in this book. first story is about sparkles days. Henry and Mudge loved winter because they loved snow. They was looking forward to snowing in winter. When it was snow, they enjoyed playing four hours. Next is about Christmas Eve dinner. Henry's family prepared dinner for Christmas Eve, and they enjoyed having special dinner. Last is about firelight. Henry's family loved walking, so they ware walking one night. Then, they saw a shooting star, and they wish their wish. After that, they came back their home, they rest in front of fireplace.
          My heart is warmed when I read these three stories because Henry and Mudge are really good friends, and their family spend very happy days.

          As the title suggests, The Three Little Pigs, is the story that three little pigs, Pinky, Percy and poppy, build a house by each other and fight a big wolf. First, Pinky build a house made from straw. Next, Percy build a house made from sticks. Last, Poppy build a house made from bricks. Then, a big wolf tries to break their houses to puff and blow.
          I have read this story in Japanese, but I haven't read this story in English. What's more, I read this story for the first time in many years, so it is fun to read.

As the title suggests, Henry and Mudge and the Bedtime thumps, is one of the books in the henry and Mudge stories. Henry and Mudge visited Henry's grandmother. Henry worried about Mudge because it was first time for Mudge to meet henry's grandmother, and if Mudge does bad things, he might have to sleep outside. However, Mudge did bad things, so he was put out. Then, both of them sleep alone.
